No "Josh"-ing around this time

Well another tournament is upon us and a few regulars have seen the writing on the wall and called out. Now, trying to be an impartial reporter here on Uptheodds.com I feel its my duty to report with honesty and integrity. Covering all sides of each tournament and making sure all players and outcomes are shown in the correct light.

As you are all aware I have invited players to voice their opinions by contributing Poker articles, adding comments after postings and even went as far as to add an instant messenger right on the site. Still An unnamed player "COUGHjoshCOUGH" has questioned my journalistic skills.

I feel I should respond to this unnamed players concerns.

For one, I have given this individual an open forum to discuss his/her concerns. They have not forwarded any postings as of today. Not to give away this players name I will just say they are somewhere between 15th and 40th in the overall player rankings at Aaron's and have not won a tournament since 2007.

I have also offered my Poker insight and knowledge at no charge, to try and teach this person the finer points of the game in hopes that someday he can play with more confidence and rely less on the river for wins. Now the going rate for this knowledge is staggering but the offer was never taken advantage of.

After all of my offers they refuse to acknowledge that some players are just plain better. I hope someday he can come to peace with himself and realize he's just not that good.

Now lets talk about the rest of this months preview.

Aaron is out, Maybe.....I'm not sure....If his sons team wins then he cant make it but if they lose he may......Errr..I think that's it.....Anyway, He is not in a position to miss a month. 8th place and only 6 points behind is Big Frank...He finds a babysitter and he could use Aaron's absence to make his move. Now hosting the tournament I don't believe Aaron has ever missed one so this may be a hard pill to swallow come Sunday Morning when the results are delivered to his desktop. I can promise you this....If he drops out of top 9 the results wont get to the rest of us for at least a week.

Another curious absence from the list is Kyle. Now being the points leader may have something to do with it but I think there is something else going on. Let me Explain.

Kyle is almost a shoe in for the December tournament and knows he is out matched by virtually everyone but maybe Josh and he is not showing this month either. Now, there is a scrapbooking conference in Pennsylvania this weekend.....Coincidence? I think not.

We have a few people making a comeback this month from either a short or long absence.

Russ will be in the house, Bob Sr. makes his hopefully triumphant return and Willis is back for the cash game....errr.. Tournament. Don't be late or you may miss him.

Ryan says he'll be there. I wont hold my breath. Mark. S will play in his second of 2009 and the same goes for Greg.

With Frank and Pete right on the top 9's doorstep we may see a change in the year end standings this weekend.

Ill see most of you Saturday at Scotts house. I hope Kyle and Josh have a romantic weekend and I'll wish Aaron's son luck in this weekend's big tournament.
