Wine and Poker dont mix

Well it looks like a little to much Vino cost Javier a few places on the leader board. Ray and yours truly took advantage of Jane opening a few nice bottles of her secret stash to lead the Paxman to loosen up just a bit to much and drive him over to the cash game earlier than normal. Normally its the cheap Box-o-wine along with the meatballs that are broken out for the league but Jane spared no expense this time. Javier easily got his $3 worth.

The big winner of course was Cee Dub. Big Chris W gets the old monkey off the back with his first win and rockets up the leader board to 4Th place. Good job Chris, I have taught you well.

Although Kyle leading is like Toronto on top of the AL East(we all know where he's headed) he still made another strong showing even with a sub par skill level. He keeps the lead for now and with an 11 point lead on 2nd he is almost assured a seat come December. I think that may be called Dead Money come Christmas time, Or Hanukkah time for or Little Jewish friend Josh who for some strange reason showed up to earn his whopping 2 points and end up drowning time after time on the river all night.

Matt on the other hand has not been the same player this year. With his spotty attendance and embarrassing play it was a surprise to all to have him send the leagues best player to the rail in 6th. With 10 points he did surpass a few players on the bottom but still finds himself with only 1/2 of the points needed to make the top 9 as of today. This summer will tell us whether Matt is for real or if its time to pull a Brett Farve and retire, Then un-retire and find a new league with players more to his skill set. I'm thinking maybe the NADPL "North American Donkey Poker League".

Some Surprise attendees included Big Frank who found a babysitter on Craigslist at the last second and decided to show. Big Steve who's has 1 point through May, Nice. Scott T was there for I believe what was 4 hands before remembering we were not playing Razz. He gets a point and leaves in shame before its dark. Aaron was back to his "A" game and checked out with a point as well. Jane made her first appearance, Got a point, Got Javier cocked on wine and retired early for the evening.

Miller Keeps up the Pace of lurking around the bubble while Pete makes a big move to get close but no cigar just yet. Rafael kept the Peruvian steak alive by matching his big brothers with a point and a few to many adult beverages. Ray Has a chance to Make a big move but drops a position to 5th after another final table showing comes up short.

A bunch of no shows in Willis who may have been there just out before anyone knew he was playing along with Bob Sr, Russ, Bryan, Dave R, Ryan and Adin to name a few. We hope to see some of these players next month.

A few Newbies this month and it seems they will be back for more. Welcome.

All in all not a bad month, I got to limit my discussions with josh which saves me from a pounding headache, Won over $100 in the cash game and had some delicious meatballs. I also drank 8 beers that I didn't bring so all ended up ok. Blue Moons and Magic Hats. Nice.

Summers here and points will be easy pickings over next few months with what traditionally turns out to be smaller turnouts. Ill be there to oversee and take mental notes.
Have a good summer folks and Ill see you on the felt in June.

The CEO of the "Up The Odds" was a cranky little bitch most of the night until he loaded up Javier with wine and raped him in the cash game. (just like everyone else did.)
