Slow Play Saloons annual Pumpkin poker Tournament

With a week and a day delay in Octobers Pumpkin poker tournament, a small group looks to ready itself for the 2nd to last chance for points.

October is usually the month we crunch the numbers and see who is a lock, who needs to go deep and who needs to hold on.

Lets First look at the Jacksonville Jaguars of this years league. Some names that used to be contenders have fallen on hard times

Josh, Chris W, Dan K, Mark S, Greg M and Kyle were names we used to see contending for December in the past. Now most months they are not even considered a threat to make the points. They are not mathematically out but lets be honest. These are they guys you want to see at your table when you need to run deep.

The Charger Group are the ones that look like they are for real but seem to falter in the end

Names like Willis, John P, Dave R and Jason are having this type of year. You look on paper and say "wow, These guys are good" but this years results make you scratch your head.

This is the tough Group. They used to be feared every hand. Would consistently be there at the end and even win it all sometimes. No in days they are scary sometimes and other times laughable. With Names like Pete, Miller, Zimmerman and Larry, the group has names that sound like champions but just haven't shown it in 2014. October and November can push some in this group up with some deep runs

The Cowboy group is just outside the top 10. Not taken too seriously in most cases but still has the top 10 looking over their shoulders. Names like Scott, T, Jim D and Greg J All are knocking on the door. these guys can crack into Decembers Game with a good run come Saturday.

These are the Broncos of the league. The top 1/2 of this list is in real good shape to make December and should be the only few who could realistically take a month off. The Bottom 1/2 are a bit more precarious. A bad showing and a few Cowboys could take your seats.

Octobers game is Saturday. Lots of you are an embarrassment to the league and if you never show again I would understand completely. The rest of you need to step up and bring your "A" game. 2 games left....

32 Points left for first place finishes. This gives almost everyone a chance to make the dance.
