Never enough poker games.
With yours truly missing the July game I had to rely on my students to be my eyes and ears for this months blog.
A few items can be copied and pasted from months past. Consistent results, outcomes and observations that we all know will continue month after month with very few exceptions.
Lets visit a few of these that I could have written the night before the tournament with a high degree of certainty.
Willis was first out. Now this is not really sticking my neck out so don't pat me on the back just yet. I was told Matt did poorly as usual. Josh was out quick and lost 3 times as much to Willis in the cash game, tried to leave without paying and was in bed prior to 9PM. Dave R went deep again. Coughlin didn't show and an entire bottle of wine was consumer by Javier.
These are all items repeated month after month. Not much variance here.
Other items that were not so expected...
Victor getting his first points coming in 7th. First ever points and he still has 5 times as many as Dan K. I was added to the IOU board and John P jumped from 25th to tied for 9th.
Now while Dave R has his December seat wrapped up the rest of us all are one slip away from watching from the rail. Regulars like Chris W, Dan K, Willis and Victor are way behind and need to make a move over the Summer. The top 10 points will get farther out of reach for the bottom of the field and the fall may be to late for a move.
Both Steve's, Josh Frank and Miller are close but close gets you nothing. 5 points may not seem like a ton but without your best play you will miss the dance by a painfully small margin.
Scott and Larry are right at the table, Looking on but you see no open seats. The top 10 are in no mood to give one up either, They will fight to keep them and you will have to take them with your play or take December off.
The top 10 outside of Dave R have work to do as well. Play well or down the list you go.
Sadly, I cannot make the August tournament either due to vacation. I will again be depending on you, My faithful students to forward me your observations, overviews and breakdowns of the action.
I assume I can copy and paste the first couple paragraphs from this month and fill in the rest but poker is a sick game. Will we see Ray get a big Win? Josh Go Deep? Javier stay sober? The odds are stacked against all of these things but I've seen a guy named Cada come from 1% of the chips in play to win it all so anything is possible.
I was also told that Scott has hired Josh to place a $100 lien on my weed wacker until the amount is paid in full.
