March came and went with little fanfare.
We watched a Ace high flush held by Steve D get pummeled by a straight flush in the hands of Kyle. And Nowiks set of sixes watched Larry's runner runner straight take 95% of our beloved head coach's stack. We watched Josh get sent to the rail by a well hidden pair of pocket aces while Matt continued his long running tradition of complaining about the cards.
Ok, Maybe a little fanfare.
A new player in the group, Paul Y took home his inaugural Slow Play Saloon tournament. I think I speak for everyone in saying nice win Jackass! Only kidding Paul. If you decide to return I'm sure you will see that we all like to have fun and maybe rag each other a bit.
Coming in 4th Pete could not do his traditional murmur and Storm out routine.Larry dropped out in 3rd after Winning the majority of my chips and all of Aaron's.
Dave R is on fire. Mr Angry as he likes to be called is almost a shoe in for December. He has twice as many points as your truly. And we all know that is the barometer everyone compares themselves to.
Matt, Mr "I'm the greatest poker player ever" has a whopping 3 points. Josh has 5 times as many and he is awful at poker.
The big news is of course the announcement that Mr Nowik will be playing in this Sundays Foxwoods poker Classic, No Limit Hold em Event.
Since the arrival of his 2nd son in October of 2009 he has placed his poker career on hold. But he now says the time has come to return to the game. Tournament starts at 11:00 am and he invites all of you to come join him. Javier and Rafael have plans to attend and Dave is looking forward to seeing more of you at the table and in the stands. $300 buy in is a great price for this type of structure.
Now April 9th is only a few weeks away so be prepared. The Foxwoods and Sun tournaments are great warm ups.
In other news the NAPT is scheduled to start in late March at the Mohegan Sun. A few of these events look good and the main event is to be aired on ESPN2.
In closing let compare a few more players to our league players
Larry = Allan Cunningham
Both quiet. . Allan has almost 10 million in winning while Larry is quite a ways behind. Adams apples make v-neck the sweater of choice in both cases.
Suharto = Rafael
2.5 Million to 8 bucks. Due to there quiet game we have no idea whether either speaks English.
Kyle = Hennigan =Explanation not necessary
Remember, viewing areas near my Sunday Seat will be hard to find after word spreads of my attendance so come early.
